Xiaomi’s “Jiaolong” Chassis to Debut on the Next-Generation SU7

Gasgoo Munich- On March 17, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun took to social media to unveil the "Jiaolong Chassis" — a high-performance smart system designed specifically for drivers. The technology is set to make its debut on the new-generation SU7.

According to Lei Jun, the Jiaolong chassis aims to deliver a precise, stable, and safe driving experience. Its core strength lies in premium hardware, professional tuning, and deep software-hardware integration. On the hardware front, the system employs a double-wishbone front suspension and a five-link independent rear setup. It also features closed double-chamber air springs, CDC variable dampers, front four-piston fixed calipers, and 265mm rear wide tires — laying a solid foundation for the vehicle's handling performance.

In terms of software and calibration, the chassis achieves deep integration between hardware and software. It incorporates features like anti-slip cooperative control, a wet mode, AI multimodal monitoring for slippery surfaces, and intelligent chassis preview with lift functionality. There's even a motion sickness relief mode to enhance comfort across various road conditions. Additionally, the system has undergone professional tuning for the 'Ultra' braking feel, steering, and suspension, further refining the driving quality.

Separately, Xiaomi EV announced that sprinter Su Bingtian has been named the brand's official spokesperson. The company noted that Su, already an owner of the first-generation SU7, described his daily experience with the vehicle as one of "trust" — a sentiment that underpins his new role.

Xiaomi EV had previously revealed on March 16 that the new-generation SU7 will officially hit the market on March 19. Lei Jun wrote that the model represents two years of dedicated refinement over the original, offering significant upgrades in safety, handling, intelligent features, and premium feel. Many users, he noted, hope the SU7 will become a lasting legend — and the new generation is ready to meet those expectations.
