Gasgoo Munich- On March 25, mass production of the core power system for XPENG AEROHT's X3-F — dubbed the "Land Aircraft Carrier" — officially kicked off at CALB's Chengdu plant. XPENG AEROHT founder Zhao Deli and CALB chairman Liu Jingyu were on hand to witness the milestone.

The "top-tier" high-energy flight battery supplied by CALB for the vehicle boasts leading-edge features in safety, performance, and quality. On the safety front, the battery incorporates a four-level aviation-grade protection mechanism, with thermal safety designs that meet strict airworthiness standards. Performance-wise, it utilizes high-silicon, high-nickel cells delivering an energy density of 360 Wh/kg and a peak discharge rate of 25C. In terms of quality, over 100,000 cells have been verified, making it the industry's first power battery to secure dual certification under both automotive regulations and aviation airworthiness standards.
The mass production of this aviation-grade battery marks a pivotal moment for scaling the low-altitude economy.
Separately, reports indicate XPENG AEROHT closed a new equity funding round of nearly $200 million earlier this month. Investors included Hillhouse Venture, Sequoia China, Gaorong Ventures, and Fortune Capital, with Hillhouse and Sequoia China doubling down following their Series A participation. That brings XPENG AEROHT's total equity financing to roughly $1 billion — the largest of any player in Asia's manned low-altitude flight sector.
Operations are moving forward steadily. The company's mass production facility — the world's first to use a modern assembly line for aircraft manufacturing — was essentially completed by September 2025 and has entered the trial production phase.
