According to earlier filings from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the MONA L05 appeared in the 407th batch of the "Catalogue of Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products". This was filed on May 9, 2026. The new model measures 4,870 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, and 1,636 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,940 mm — 50 mm longer than the XPeng G6. It features a five-seat layout. Visually, the car continues the MONA family design language with a fastback coupe SUV silhouette, a closed front face, and T-shaped headlights.
The MONA L05 offers both pure electric and extended-range powertrain options. The pure electric version packs a single motor with a maximum output of 183 kW, paired with a 71.1 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. It provides four range variants under CLTC conditions: 615 km, 635 km, 640 km, and 660 km. The extended-range version features a 1.5-liter range extender with 70 kW maximum power, paired with a 183 kW drive motor and a 37.2 kWh battery pack. Its pure electric range comes in three versions: 237 km, 245 km, and 253 km. This marks the first time the MONA series has introduced extended-range powertrain technology.
For context, the MONA series' debut model, the M03, quickly became a sales pillar for XPeng following its launch in August 2024. Full-year sales in 2025 reached 175,300 units, accounting for 40% of XPeng's total volume. As the third product in the lineup, the MONA L05 marks a strategic shift. It moves beyond the brand's early youth focus to expand into the mainstream family market.
