XPENG Robots Enter Mass Production Sprint Phase

Edited by Taylor From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich-XPENG Group recently held a mobilization rally for robot mass production. Nearly 1,000 employees from divisions including automotive, powertrain, manufacturing, testing, and general intelligence attended.

Key executives in attendance included Chairman He Xiaopeng, Vice President Gu Jie, and Mi Licheng, head of the Robotics Center. The rally signals that XPENG’s robotics business has officially entered the sprint phase for mass production.

Reports indicate He outlined a clear timeline: mass production of humanoid robots by the end of 2026, with deployment in XPENG stores as shopping guides expected in the first quarter of 2027. He emphasized that XPENG’s robots are fully self-developed—from chips and operating systems to joints and dexterous hands—making it the only company in China with full-stack in-house capabilities. That heavy upfront investment, he argued, will deliver superior quality, design, and comprehensive capability.

"We are at a stage today equivalent to XPENG Motors eight years ago," He said. At that time, the company had just launched and delivered its first vehicle, the G3. Now, the robotics team is replicating that trajectory.

On the capacity front, XPENG broke ground on a humanoid robot mass production base in Guangzhou’s Tianhe District this February. Covering roughly 110,000 square meters, the facility will support full-chain, large-scale production.
