Great Wall Motor Reports RMB102.1 Billion H1 Revenue as Overseas Sales Exceed 50%
Great Wall Motor released its 2026 semi-annual report on August 25, reporting revenue of RMB102.101 billion in the first half of the year, up 10.58% year-on-year. The company sold 575,764 vehicles during the period, representing a slight increase of 1.22% compared with the previous year.
Overseas business became the main driver of sales growth, with overseas sales reaching 289,016 vehicles, up 45.46% year-on-year and accounting for more than 50% of total sales. However, profitability declined, with net profit attributable to shareholders falling 61.11% year-on-year to RMB2.465 billion, mainly due to delayed recovery of overseas tax subsidy benefits and exchange rate fluctuations. Great Wall Motor said it will continue expanding globally while accelerating domestic NEV product upgrades to balance scale growth and profitability.
Leapmotor to Launch New Intelligent Driving Architecture in September
Leapmotor disclosed its latest intelligent driving development plans at its 2026 mid-year performance communication meeting, announcing that its urban navigation assisted driving function has been opened across its full ABCD model lineup. The company will officially release a new-generation intelligent driving architecture solution in September to further enhance its assisted driving experience.
The new architecture-based intelligent driving solution will be a major technology upgrade under Leapmotor's full-stack self-development strategy and will go beyond a simple software update. According to the company's OTA roadmap, models equipped with the 3.0 architecture will receive nationwide urban navigation assisted driving updates in the third quarter, removing city whitelist restrictions and expanding high-level intelligent driving availability. Leapmotor is also continuing investment in L2+, L3, and L4 intelligent driving technologies, supported by sustained R&D spending for algorithm development and data accumulation.
Li Auto to Unveil New-Generation MEGA on September 2
Li Auto announced on August 26 that its new-generation MEGA will officially debut on September 2. The new model, named the MEGA Home version, will feature comprehensive upgrades in exterior design, interior configuration, intelligent driving hardware, and power systems.
The new MEGA adopts a dual vertical skylight design, upgraded interior lighting, enhanced second-row comfort features, a new steering wheel without a liquid crystal display, and a 29-inch integrated central and passenger display system. Exterior updates include redesigned front bumper details, new wheel designs, semi-hidden door handles compliant with China's latest standards, and power sliding doors with anti-pinch functions. The vehicle measures 5,355 mm in length, 1,965 mm in width, and 1,850 mm in height, with a 3,300 mm wheelbase.
The new MEGA upgrades its intelligent driving hardware with side and rear solid-state LiDAR sensors, increasing the total number of LiDAR units from one to four. It also adds ±7° rear-wheel steering, an 800V active anti-roll bar system, and steer-by-wire technology. The vehicle is powered by a dual-motor system with a combined maximum output of 413 kW and uses a CATL 108 kWh ternary lithium battery pack, providing a pure-electric range of 710 km and a top speed of 200 km/h. The model is expected to become an important move for Li Auto in the pure-electric MPV market.
