GWM’s Shalong unveils first EV model, Jijia Long at 2021 Auto Guangzhou

Guangzhou (Gasgoo)- The mysterious “Shalong” premium brand from Great Wall Motor finally showed its true form with its first EV model, the Jijia Long (meaning Mecha Dragon in English), today at the 2021 Auto Guangzhou.

The Jijia Long has a sporty build with performance-grade configurations. The vehicle runs from 0-100km/h in only 3.7 seconds, with a 33-meter class smart redundant braking system to ensure safety. Interestingly, the vehicle is also equipped with a dual-sound-wave simulation system to make up for the “quietness” of EVs.

Before the Show, Great Wall Motor has been touting the 4 LiDARs on this EV, realizing a 360° view without blind spots. Aside from the LiDARs, it is also equipped with the Captain-Pilot intelligent driving system and 38 intelligent perceptual components.

According to Shalong, the Jijia Long also features a world-first dual MDC intelligent driving computing platform with outstanding computing power. The vehicle is also mounted with seven interactive screens to match its futuristic theme.

Moreover, the Jijia Long offers an 802km CLTC range, with a highly efficient 800V/480KW charging capability, which can give the vehicle a range of 401km in 10 minutes’ charge. The vehicle is powered by the fire-resistant and anti-explosive Dayu battery technology to ensure safety.

According to the brand, the Jijia Long has a limited supply of 101 units and is priced at RMB488,000 ($76,400).
