Under the partnership, the companies will promote the further application of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon automotive cockpit into XPeng’s future models to offer customers much more intelligent, efficient and comfortable mobility experience.
Talks about intelligent cockpit between the two parties started in 2017. In April and July, 2021, the XPeng G3 and P7 commenced to use the digital cockpit from Qualcomm in full scale while the P5, equipped with the third-generation Snapdragon cockpit, hit the market in September this year. As of October, 2021, XPeng had sold over 100,000 vehicles which are equipped with Qualcomm cockpit.
At the auto show, XPeng also unveiled its new smart flagship SUV model, the G9. The new model is built on the X-EEA 3.0 E/E architecture, which adopts highly integrated hardware architecture with central super-computing and zone controlling. Thus the platform can carry higher-performance chips and support higher-level intelligent cockpit.
