Lincoln’s first China-made sedan makes debut at Auto Guangzhou 2021

Guangzhou (Gasgoo)- Lincoln’s first China-made sedan model made its debut at the Auto Guangzhou 2021. At the same time, the company started the pre-sale of the new model, named Zephyr, whose target customer is China’s Generation Z.

According to Mao Jingbo, president of Lincoln China, the sedan model brings together the expertise of the brand’s global team in California and its local team in China.

The Zephyr measures 4,982mm in length, 1,865mm in width and 1485mm in height while its wheelbase is more than 2,900mm, close to mid-large-sized sedan models. With two versions, the new sedan has a price range from RMB255,000 (US$39,924) to RMB342,000 (US$53,545).

The all-new Zephyr will launch with a standard 2.0-liter gas powertrain with an 8-speed transmission and is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2022. In the future, the company will also offer a hybrid version of the Zephyr, enriching its product portfolio.

One bright spot inside the vehicle is its 12.3-inch digital cluster with 27-inch coast-to-coast touch screen. Apart from making a stunning visual impact, the set can be configured to support an array of multi-touch gestures and customizable displays, enabling customers to choose between full or split-screen views.

The Lincoln Zephyr’s phase-4 SYNC+ system is exclusive for Chinese customers, enabling over-the-air capability to continuously update Zephyr. Debuting in Lincoln Zephyr, the advanced Lincoln Co-Pilot 360TM 2.0 System and the Lincoln ActiveGlideTM are offered to help enable L2+ Driving Assist capability.

In the first ten months of this year, the brand’s sales in China jumped 62% from a year ago to over 75,000 units.
