GAC Group, Tencent step up cooperation for digital applications, mobility service platform

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- At the Auto Shanghai 2021, GAC Group and Tencent agreed to cement their strategic collaboration to jointly develop more digital products and build new mobility ecosystem, according to a posting on the automaker's WeChat account.

The cooperation between two parties was first formed in 2017. As of today, they have made remarkable achievements and progress in many spheres like the intelligent-connected vehicle (ICV)-related contents and services, cloud platform, intelligent driving, the mobility service platform “ON TIME” as well as capital operation. The tech giant has introduced the applications, contents and services of its TAI (Tencent Auto Intelligence) Internet of Vehicles (IoT) ecosystem, such as QQ Music, Tencent's AI voice assistant "Dingdang" and Tencent Map, into a number of GAC's models like the Trumphci M6, GS5, GS8, the Aion S and the Aion LX. Besides, the in-car WeChat application has been carried by the all-new Trumpchi GS4 and GA6.

Under the newly-signed agreement, both parties will make joint efforts to further promote the fusion of the GOS (GAC Intelligent Networking Operating System) and the TAI 3.0 platform, and step up the cooperation on such in-car content applications and services as Tencent's digital public travel card and Tencent Aiquting.

To build new mobility ecosystem, the two companies will be dedicated to speeding up the technical upgrade of GAC's mobility service platform “ON TIME” by leveraging Tencent's ability to operate social platforms.

Moreover, GAC Group and Tencent will make full use of their deployment of autonomous driving technologies to co-explore the development trends for the technical applications of autonomous driving and V2X (vehicle-to-everything), and the operation of Robotaxi service. They will jointly contribute to a faster R&D and verification of autonomous driving products and the improvement in relevant standards and regulations.
