Mazda's September China sales rise 65 pct

Shanghai, October 9 (Gasgoo.com) Mazda Motor Corp., 13.8 percent owned by Ford Motor Co. said its sales in China in September rose 65 percent to a monthly record of 16,175 units.

The company's China sales for the first nine months of the year rose 31 percent to 122,476 units, paving the way for it to achieve sales target of 170,000 units for the full year.

Changan Ford Mazda Automobile, the Ford affiliate's manufacturing joint venture with the US firm and Chongqinq Changan Automobile, sold 6,965 vehicles in September, up 98 percent from a year earlier, hitting another monthly record.

Sales at another venture called FAW Mazda Motor Sales rose 47 percent from a year earlier to 9,210 units in September.
