Honda sells over 64000 vehicles in China in June
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 5) - Honda's two Chinese joint ventures, Guangqi Honda and Dongfeng Honda sold a total of 64,652 vehicles in China last month, Gasgoo.com (Chinese) reported today, citing the manufacturer's recently released monthly performance review. Sales of its joint ventures combined grew a tremendous 184.2 percent.
Both Guangqi Honda and Dongfeng Honda saw their sales grow dramatically from last June, increasing 156.6 percent and 242.4 percent, respectively. Guangqi Honda sold a total of 37,336 vehicles in June and 176,324 vehicles from January to June. The City subcompact (pictured above) was the JV's best selling model this month, with 12,301 units sold. It was followed closely by the Accord, whose sales totaled 10,323 units. Sales of the Crosstour, Fit, Odyssey and Everus own brand S1 totaled 5,009 units, 4,622 units, 2,594 units, 155 units and 2,487 units, respectively.
Dongfeng Honda, meanwhile, sold a total of 27,316 vehicles in the month and 150,689 over the first half of the year. As in previous months, the JV's best selling model in June was the CR-V SUV (pictured below), with a total of 18,692 units sold. 4,863 Civics and 1,573 Spiriors were sold. Sales of the new Ciimo and Elysion totaled 1,448 units and 740 units respectively.
Honda has sold 327,013 vehicles from January to June. The amount represents year-on-year growth of 120.5 percent for the manufacturer.
