TOYOTA Motor Corp yesterday announced the launch of its revamped Reiz sedans in China in hopes of grabbing a bigger market share in the profitable mid-to-high class segment.

FAW Toyota, a joint venture formed by Toyota and China's First Automotive Works Group, offered a sporty edition of its 2.5V Reiz with 17- inch alloy wheels, the car maker said in a statement yesterday. The new model is priced at 265,800 yuan (US$35,440).

The firm also upgraded interior equipment of the Reiz 2.5V series including leather seat coverings and side airbags to highlight safety.

FAW Toyota recently held a test drive of Reiz models in Suzhou against major rivals like the BMW 3 series, Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp's Roewe and Audi A4.
