Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) version of the third-generation Haval H6, which made its world's debut at the 42nd Bangkok International Motor Show in March, is expected to hit the market in the third quarter of 2021, according to a local media outlet.

As for the exterior, the soon-to-arrive HEV version sticks close to the existing oil-fueled model, according to the patent images released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). At the front, the hexagonal grille coupled with matrix headlights and triangular air intakes renders an aggressive front fascia.

The Haval H6 HEV carries the same dimensions as its fuel-burning sibling that measures 4,653mm long, 1,886mm wide and 1,730mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,738mm. Its curb weight is 1,720kg, versus 1550kg for the existing model.

The patent images also show that HEV version inherits the rear design of the oil-fueled one. However, the lettering “HEV” at the lower-right corner of the tailgate makes it distinguished from the fuel-powered model.

According to earlier reports, the hybrid SUV will be armed with a Level 2 driving automation system, which enables 22 intelligent functions for the better road safety. For instance, the IAP (integrated automatic parking) function utilizes the 360-degree cameras and ultrasonic sensors to search for parking spaces, evaluate the space, and plan and complete the parking; the ARA (automatic reversing assistance) can memorize directions when the car moves at a speed lower than 30km/h and automate reverse parking for up to 50 meters based on the memorized directions; the WDS (wisdom dodge system) can help the car keep a fixed distance from large-sized vehicles like trucks.

The all-new Haval H6 hybrid SUV carries a powertrain combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a 130kW electric motor, churning out an integrated power output of 243hp. According to the MIIT, its fuel consumption stands at 4.9 liter per 100 kilometers.
