The BEV manufacturer currently owns four mass-produced models for sale, namely the AION S, the AION LX, the AION V, and the AION Y. The 100,000th AION S rolled off the assembly line in early May, only two years after the model hitting the market in late April 2019.
As the first production model of the AION series, the AION S is built on the GAC Electric Platform (GEP) 2.0. Its refreshed model made its first appearance at the Auto Shanghai 2021. The new AION S gets power from the combined effort of a ternary-lithium battery pack that enables a NEDC-rated range of 510km and a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that pumps out up to 150kW and 350 N·m. It will vie with such models as the BYD Qin PLUS EV and the Geely Geometry A Pro.
