Geely's ZEEKR sees first production model 001 leave assembly line

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Oct. 19, the first mass-produced ZEEKR 001 rolled off the production line at ZEEKR's Ningbo-based plant, meaning the Geely-owned premium electric vehicle (EV) brand has started the volume production of its first vehicle model.

Delivery of the ZEEKR 001 will kick off on Oct. 23, according to the automaker.

The ZEEKR 001 is the first production model to ride on Geely's Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) modular EV platform and use the 7nm Mobileye EyeQ5H chips. It is able to zip from 0-100km/h within 3.8 seconds and has a 100-0km/h braking distance of 34.5 meters.

As for the bright spots of power performance, the ZEEKR's single-motor-drive version can offer a range of up to 712km under NEDC test cycle. The vehicle can be charged from 10% to 80% of battery capacity within only 30 minutes.

In the future, ZEEKR 001’s ZAD intelligent driving assistance system will be updated through OTA to optimize the travelling experience for users.

ZEEKR said the high-quality car delivery and volume production capability benefit from the highly efficient car building solution and the leading quality inspection system of its smart factory at Hangzhou Bay, Ningbo.

For instance, the factory equips the welding workshop with over 300 robots to achieve 100% automatic operation. The real-time monitoring system is used to make sure products qualified for delivery and traceable. Besides, the online measurement and ultrasonic inspection systems are employed at the welding line to continuously monitor the production process.
