Beijing (Gasgoo)- Nissan Motor’s October China sales remained low compared to last year but increased from September.

In October, Nissan Motor sold 113,876 vehicles, increasing 9.03% month-on-month but down 22% from the earlier year. During the first ten months this year, the auto group sold 1,133,618 vehicles in total, inching up 0.2% year on year.

In the same month, Nissan Motor’s passenger vehicle joint venture, Dongfeng Motor Co. & Ltd. (DFL), sold 95,314 vehicles (including the Nissan and Venucia brands), rising 12.46% from September but dropping 23.3% from 2020. Nissan sold 85,296 vehicles, and Venucia sold 10,018 vehicles.

DFL reported a year-to-date sales volume of 924,641 vehicles, with 863,726 vehicles from Nissan and 60,915 vehicles from Venucia, down 0.8% compared to a year ago.

Notably, Nissan’s seventh-generation ALTIMA were sold 17,598 vehicles in October, soaring 66.8% year on year. The cumulative sales volume of the model amounted to 127,032 vehicles, indicating a 43.7% increase versus the previous year.

The light commercial vehicle sector of the group saw a 9.1% year-on-year decline in its October sales, to 17,573 vehicles (including Dongfeng Automobile Co. & Ltd. and Zhengzhou Nissan). For the first ten months this year, the company accumulated 198,637 vehicles in total sales volume, up 12.4% from a year ago.
