Dongfeng Group Nov. sales come strong in PV sector
Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s major auto group, Dongfeng Group, witnessed extraordinary results in its November passenger vehicle sales, but not so much in the commercial vehicle sector.

According to the group’s sales report, its wholly-owned passenger vehicle brand, Dongfeng Fengshen, maintained its momentum from the past few months with 15,816 vehicles sold in November, soaring 138% from a year ago. For the first eleven months this year, the accumulated sales volume of the brand amounted to 108,115 vehicles, surging 75% year on year.
By the end of November, Fengshen managed to sell a monthly volume of over 10,000 for seven consecutive months since May. The brand also received over 20,000 new vehicle orders in November.

The premium EV brand of the group, VOYAH, delivered 1,139 vehicles in the same month, indicating a 13.22% increase from the previous month. During the four months of delivery, the accumulated delivery volume of the brand amounted to 3,461 vehicles.
Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën sold 14,597 vehicles in November, soaring 158% year on year. The joint venture’s accumulative sales volume for the first eleven months this year amounted to 86,553 vehicles, up 97% from the previous year. The company’s latest Versailles C5 X model is quite popular, with over 5,000 vehicles delivered in November.

In the same month, Dongfeng’s passenger vehicle joint venture with Nissan Motor, Dongfeng Motor Co. & Ltd. (DFL), sold 10,125 vehicles (including the Nissan and Venucia brands) in retail, increasing 10% year on year, and 11,384 vehicles in wholesale, up 25% year on year.

Moreover, the commercial vehicle joint venture between Dongfeng and Nissan, Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. (DFAC) reported 10,520 units of light commercial trucks sold, notching down 5% from a year ago. By the end of November, DFAC has sold 145,028 units of the said trucks, up 6.52% year on year.
In the same month, DFAC sold 1,510 units of buses, surging 72.77% versus 2021. By November, the year-to-date sales volume of buses summed up to 14,990 units, more than doubled from a year ago by 120.41%.
In addition, the company’s new energy vehicles were sold 1,261 units in November, remaining flat from the earlier year. From January to November, the accumulated sales volume of DFAC new energy vehicles equaled 11,999 vehicles, soaring 74.13% from a year ago.
