Auto design master James Hope joins China’s Baoneng Motor

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s property and financial services conglomerate Baoneng Group welcomed vehicle design veteran James Hope to its automobile arm, Baoneng Motor, heading its BAO brand's styling and the Shenzhen Styling Center.

James Hope once served in three major U.S. automakers, namely Ford Motor, DaimlerChrysler AG, and General Motors. James also took on as Chery Auto’s global design director for years, accumulating global and domestic experience.

According to public records, James Hope has been an active member of the auto design community for nearly thirty years, coming up with numerous renowned mass-produced vehicle models as well as concept cars. For example, the Ford GT90 concept car has set a New Edge design concept trend within the auto design industry. In addition, the reborn of the Ford Mustang 2004 edition and the creation of the Fiat Trepiuno were all his making.  

During his years in Chery Auto, James led the designing work of Chery’s eight popular models, including the Tiggo3, Tiggo5, Tiggo7, Tiggo8, and the Arrizo 5.

The growth speed of China has impressed James Hope, as he so said, “China is absolutely going to be one of the most accomplished countries in the new energy vehicle field.”

Notably, Baoneng Group expressed great confidence in Baoneng Motor, having allocated over RMB50 billion in less than five years. Currently, Baoneng Motor possesses vehicle manufacturing capability, two core brands, three product lines, five R&D centers, and seven manufacturing bases.
