FAW-Volkswagen sells 1.86 million vehicles in 2021

Beijing (Gasgoo)- At the end of 2021, FAW-Volkswagen released its annual sales performance ending the year on a positive note, with its sales volume outranking all domestic passenger vehicle makers in the year.

According to FAW-Volkswagen, the company sold a total of 1,857,777 vehicles in 2021, including imported Audi vehicles. The Volkswagen brand sold 988,677 vehicles during the time, while the Audi brand sold 700,088 vehicles, including 79,388 imported vehicles. The company’s Jetta brand sold 169,012 vehicles in 2021.

The prominent sales performance was attributed to the company’s optimized production plan. On December 23rd, FAW-Volkswagen’s daily production peak volume reached 10,777 vehicles, setting a new record in history. The automaker managed to produce 1,700,777 vehicles in the entire year, guaranteeing its supply.

In 2021, the automaker introduced eight new models, including four battery-electric vehicle models. The ID.4 CROZZ, ID.6 CROZZ, Audi e-tron, Q4 e-tron also entered the Chinese market.

Aside from the new energy transformation, the company is also active in the automotive intelligence field. FAW-Volkswagen’s Jetta brand has formed a cooperation with Alibaba-backed onboard OS developer Banma at Alibaba Group’s 2021 APSARA Conference.

Moreover, the automaker has established an office, a data center, and an R&D center dedicated to digitization. The company has partnered with major tech moguls in China HUAWEI, and Alibaba Group to cultivate engineers for digitization.
