Geely’s upscale EV brand ZEEKR announces foundation of Shanghai R&D center

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- ZEEKR Intelligent Technology (called “ZEEKR” for short), an intelligent premium all-electric vehicle brand of Geely Auto, announced on Jan. 20 its Shanghai-based intelligence R&D center has been established to boost ZEEKR's in-house development of full-stack technologies.

Meanwhile, ZEEKR released a job posting via its WeChat account, saying it intends to recruit technology R&D talents from the fields like intelligent driving, smart cockpit, electronics software, and complete vehicle architecture, and user service.

According to ZEEKR, it has already built a R&D team with over 10,000 staff members engaging in software, new energy, and other businesses. In Europe, the CEVT (China Euro Vehicle Technology AB), an innovation center gathering over 2,000 excellent automotive engineers from 30 plus countries, can support ZEEKR in exploring development trend of future intelligent mobility and swiftly responding to global users' demands.

Besides, ZEEKR has the subsidiary, Viridi E-mobility Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., dedicated to the development, production and sales of NEV core components, including batteries and electric motors.

The premium EV maker noted that the Shanghai R&D hub will see its R&D group expand to around 1,500 persons in the future. Its core businesses cover such domains as intelligent cockpit, digital cockpit, as well as software and electronics.
