SAIC Motor eyes annual sales of 120,000 vehicles in Europe in 2022
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SAIC Motor will vigorously advance its deployment in the European market with the aim of selling over 120,000 new vehicles and deploying more than 1,200 sales and service outlets in 2022, the automaker said on Feb. 12.
As for key products, the MG CyberE (code-named “EH32”), a new model riding on SAIC Motor’s all-new all-electric vehicle platform and targeting the global market, will start its international journey this year by arriving in Europe first.
MG, a PV brand self-owned by SAIC Motor, announced in March 2021 it would launch an all-new product lineup named “Cyber” that mainly focuses on the demands of young consumers. The series’ first concept “Cyberster” made its debut at the Auto Shanghai 2021.
According to media reports released last September, the automaker has planned four models for the Cyber series, including the aforementioned CyberE and Cyberster, as well as the CyberS and CyberX code-named “IP42” and “AS34”, respectively.
The MG CyberE will be an all-electric model carrying 5G-enbaled connected technologies and level 3 advanced driver assistance functions, according to MG's product planning.
SAIC Motor gained a blooming start in 2022 for its overseas businesses. According to its latest monthly sales results, the auto giant’s export volume and sales of overseas markets totaled 65,429 units in January, soaring 74.4% over a year earlier despite the global supply constraints and the COVID-19 pandemic.
