Innoviz Technologies partners with LiangDao Intelligence for market expansion in China

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On April 13th, China’s LiDAR system developer LiangDao Intelligence announced that it has signed a strategic partnership with Nasdaq-listed LiDAR supplier, Innoviz Technologies.

The partnership specifies that the two companies will work on customizing Innoviz’s LiDAR solutions for automakers in China. The duo will also co-develop perception solutions, validation, and data collection in an effort to accelerate the series production of the InnovizTwo high-resolution LiDAR in the Chinese market.

As a full-stack service provider of automotive LiDAR systems, LiangDao Intelligence’s core technical team has led the software mass-production R&D team of the world’s first LiDAR, the Scala, which has realized scale production on the Audi A8 model. In 2019, the Chinese company has landed the world’s first large-scale production project for solid-state LiDAR.

On the other hand, Innoviz Technologies is also a major player in its field. In 2018, the company’s InnovizOne solid-state LiDAR sensor was chosen by BMW, procured, and mass-manufactured by Magna International. Later on, at CES 2022, Innoviz Technologies unveiled the B-prototype of its new generation LiDAR, InnovizTwo, which delivers a 30x performance improvement and a 70% cost reduction compared to the InnovizOne.

Notably, after three and a half years of operation in China, Innoviz has launched a subsidiary in Shanghai in March, named Innoviz Shanghai Technologies Ltd.
