According to documents released by China's State Administration of Market Regulation, 1,850 units of imported Model 3 Performance editions, and 12,834 units of China-made Model 3 Performance editions manufactured from January 12th, 2019 to March 25th, 2022 are subjective to the recall.
Under Track Mode, the said Model 3 Performance’s center display only shows the numerical value of the vehicle’s speed without stating units (KM/H). When driving under Track Mode, the lacking of the velocity units can cause misinterpretation for drivers, leading to collisions and other safety hazards.
Tesla will perform free OTA updates on the recalled vehicles to a 2022.12 or newer version. After the updates, the malfunctioning vehicles should work and display properly. Users are not required to come to stores for the updates.
For vehicles that cannot be updated through OTA technology, Tesla will contact and perform free updates for the said vehicles via the Tesla service center.
In addition, a recall from Volkswagen for 12 Bentley Continental GTs and Flying Spurs, as well as 2,630 Bentaygas was also released by the Administration today.
Moreover, on the same day, Toyota recalled 9,421 units of its imported Lexus NX series.
