Geely’s ZEEKR sees April sales climb 19% MoM

Beijing (Gasgoo)- In April, China’s major automaker Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (Geely Auto), saw its premium EV brand ZEEKR recover from last month’s sales slope, according to the company’s report on May 10th.

In the fourth month of 2022, Geely Auto sold 72,153 vehicles altogether, decreasing 28.68% over the previous month, and down 28% over the earlier year. From January to April, the accumulative sales volume of the automaker summed up to 398,177 vehicles, notching down 8% year over year.

To be specific, the Geely brand sold 56,698 vehicles in April, representing a 32.33% month-on-month decline, and a 30% year-on-year decline. Despite the overall downturn, the Geely’s EV sub-brand Geometry still scored a 337% sales soar over a year ago to 7,320 vehicles in April.

In the past month, Geely Auto’s jointly owned brand with Volvo Cars, Lynk & Co, sold 10,301 vehicles, indicating a 46% decrease compared to that of 2021. For the first four months this year, the accumulative sales volume of the brand totaled 52,726 vehicles, dropping 28% from a year ago.

On the other hand, Lynk & Co delivered 1,150 vehicles through subscription in the European market. In the past four months, the brand has delivered 4,421 vehicles to the said market via subscription. 

In April, Geely Auto’s high-end EV brand, ZEEKR, delivered 2,137 units of its only model on the market, the ZEEKR 001, climbing up 19.05% from a month earlier. By the end of April, ZEEKR has delivered 10,378 vehicles this year.

Moreover, the automaker’s jointly owned brand with Lifan Auto, Livan Auto, sold 3,017 vehicles in April, jumping 33.44% month over month.

In addition, Geely Auto exported 17,492 vehicles in the past month, more than doubled from the year-ago period.
