Gotion High-Tech adds 30GWh production capacity with two new sites starting production

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Gotion High-Tech has added 30 GWh to its total production capacity by opening two new sites at the end of May, representing a great significance to the company's aim of increasing total capacity to 100GWh by the end of this year.

On May 30, the 10GWh battery production lines at Gotion High-Tech's battery plant in Yichun city were officially put into operation, only one year after the ground-breaking ceremony was held, according to the battery maker's press release.

In March 2021, Gotion High-Tech signed a cooperation agreement with local authority of Yichun Economic & Technological Development Zone for investment in several projects related to power battery, lithium carbonate, mining, and mineral processing.

With a designed production capacity of 30GWh, the Yichun battery manufacturing base is planned to be built in two phases, said Zhang Wei, general manager of Yichun Gotion Battery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary indirectly wholly-owned by Gotion High-Tech. The first phase of 15GWh is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022. The aforementioned 10GWh facilities are part of the first-phase project.

On May 28, Gotion High-Tech saw its 20GWh battery manufacturing factory in Liuhe district, Nanjing city start production.

With the production capacity of the Liuhe base gradually unleashed, Gotion High-Tech will lift its total capacity in Nanjing to 30GWh.

Gotion High-Tech inked an agreement for the Liuhe battery project in June 2021 and construction began in October of the same year.
