NIO launches charging/discharging ‘all-in-one’ machine

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- NIO announced today it has launched a portable machine that integrates both charging and discharging functions.

The charging/discharging “all-in-one” machine is able to meet the needs of mutiple scenarios. It will be officially available for rent at the end of July this year.

The new machine will be compatible with all production models NIO has so far launched. Besides, it can be used for other brands’ models equipped with the charging ports regulated by the domestic national standards.

The “all-in-one” machine can be powered by directly connection to a 220V socket or a vehicle's DC charging port, with a charging rate of up to 2.85kW and a top discharging rate of 3.3kW. It can protect users from electric shock, and prevent the risks of over-charging, over-discharging, short circuit, and over-temperature. In addition, it also supports the IP66-rated dustproof and waterproof.

The machine can function normally at a temperature range of -20℃ to 50℃.

According to NIO, the newly-launched machine will only be rented through NIO's official channels with a rate of 168 yuan ($25) per week. It will be put into trial operation at the end of July in several cities first. The formal operation will begin nationwide at the end of August this year.
