Nissan Motor sells 546,020 vehicles in China in first half of 2022
Beijing (Gasgoo)- In the first half of 2022, Nissan Motor sold 546,020 vehicles in China, representing a year-over-year drop of 22.7%. The automaker attributed the decline to the global auto part shortages.

In the sixth month of 2022, Nissan Motor sold 109,051 vehicles in China, surging 58.4% from a month earlier but notching down 4.8% over a year ago.
In June, Nissan Motor’s passenger vehicle joint venture, Dongfeng Motor Co. & Ltd. (DFL), sold 91,867 vehicles (including Nissan, Venucia, and Infiniti brands), greatly jumping 64.6% from May while also edging up 0.6% year on year. From January to June, the cumulative sales volume of DFL summed up to 448,806 vehicles, down 22% compared to the year-ago period.
To be specific, Nissan brand sold 81,166 vehicles last month. In the meantime, the Venucia brand sold 10,046 vehicles, indicating a respective hike of 79.1% and 71% from the previous month and the previous year. In June, there were 655 Infiniti vehicles sold in China, jumping 48.9% month over month.
Additionally, Nissan Motor sold 17,184 commercial vehicles in June, gaining a 33% month-on-month increase, but logging a 26.1% year-on-year drop. Notably, the former light truck sector, Dongfeng Automobile Company, was transferred back to the hands of Dongfeng Motor Group directly on May 30th, and was therefore not included in Nissan’s China sales.
