SAIC Motor scores two-digit MoM, YoY growth in June 2022 sales
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SAIC Motor announced today its monthly auto sales reached 483,584 units in June 2022, jumping 33% month on month, while also leaping 47.16% year on year.
For the first half of this year, the Shanghai-based auto giant sold a total of 2,234,291 vehicles, indicating a 2.74% year-on-year drop, which was 8.33 percentage points fewer than the decrease in Jan.-May sales.
After being outsold by SAIC-GM-Wuling ("SGMW") for three consecutive months, SAIC Volkswagen topped other subsidiaries in June with a wholesale volume of 126,038 units, which reflected a 93.9% year-on-year hike. Both SAIC-GM and SGMW saw their June sales reach or exceed 12,000 units to score a two-digit increase from a year ago.

SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company continued its rising movement with its June sales soaring 75.75% from the previous year.
The monthly sales results show that SAIC Motor's new energy vehicle (“NEV”) sales stood at 91,297 units last month, surging 86.21% over the previous year. During the same month, the group saw its export volume and sales of overseas markets total 84,134 units, up 59.42% year over year.
SAIC Motor's year-to-date sales still declined over a year ago, mainly due to the double-digit drop in Jan.-Jun. sales of SAIC-GM, SGMW, and SAIC Maxus.
In 2022, SAIC Motor aims to achieve a year-on-year growth of over 10% with more than 6 million vehicles sold.
