Aiways brand-new electric model U6 starts presale

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s new energy vehicle startup Aiways, kicked off the presale of its brand-new SUV model, the U6, last week.

The U6 inherits the unique design language of RG Nathalie, including the closed-off X-shaped front, three-piece sporty waistline, and F1-style body kit. The dynamic design lowered the U6’s drag coefficient to 0.26.

In terms of intelligent driving, the U6 will be equipped with the AI-Cruise intelligent driving assistance system. The vehicle is capable of the world's first NRP narrow road assistance function, navigating the vehicle through narrow roads at 8km/h. In addition, the U6 supports VRP, NGA, traffic environment reconstitution, turn signal-controlled lane-merging, and remote parking functions.  

The U6 is built on Aiways’ proprietary pure-electric MAS platform. The upper portion of its lightweight body is made of steel while the lower portion is made of aluminum, and the two parts are connected by aviation-grade technology and 2000MPa military-grade materials. Aiways’ innovative sandwich structure battery pack has a higher level of thermal runaway control than the national standard in the nail penetration test. 

In terms of driving, the U6 is equipped with the automaker’s self-developed AP4000 intelligent electric drive system, with a maximum power of 160kW, a peak torque of 315Nm, and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of less than 7 seconds. 

Aiways and Prodrive Automotive Technology jointly tuned the chassis to effectively reduce the bumpy feeling of driving on urban roads, and improved the chassis support during intense driving. Moreover, the Chinese automaker used the latest battery management system and heat pump air conditioning technology on the U6, enabling an NEDC range of 503km-650km.
