Autoliv inks agreement to build Jiading factory’s 2nd phase
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Autoliv, a global automotive safety system supplier, signed an agreement a few days ago to expand its production capacity in its Shanghai factory, according to a post on the company's WeChat account.
Under the agreement, Autoliv will build the second phase of its factory in Jiading district, Shanghai city. Covering a planned area of 40mu (around 26,700 square meters), the new facility will involve a total investment of 350 million yuan ($51.762 million).

Upon completion of the construction, the Jiading factory's second phase will be used to manufacture the products under the company's new project, and boost the digitalization and automation for its airbag production.
The new building works are under the management of Autoliv (Shanghai) Vehicle Safety System Co., Ltd., who owns the biggest airbag factory in China. The company plans to break ground at the second phase of Jiading factory in the first half of 2023 and aims to complete all construction works in 2024.
Starting business in the Chinese market in 1989, Autoliv currently has 14 manufacturing factories and over 9,000 staff members in the country. Its China headquarters is located in Shanghai.
