Dongfeng Motor sets up auto design company in Shanghai

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Dongfeng Motor Group Co., Ltd., (DFMG) inaugurated its vehicle design subsidiary, Shanghai Lingyi Auto Design, whose predecessor was the Dongfeng Innovation Design Center (Shanghai), founded in November 2018.

In the past four years, the previous Dongfeng Innovation Design Center (Shanghai) has formed an international team of talents from China, the UK, Japan, and South Korea. The center offers a comprehensive environment that is capable of innovative design, digital modeling design, VR review, and 3D model printing. 

The design center was in charge of the independent design of the Dongfeng eπ2021 SUV concept car and was part of the development process of the Dongfeng Fengshen Haoji model. 

After starting operation, Shanghai Lingyi Auto Design Branch will play as a portal of innovative designs, focusing on the forward-looking concept in the field of automobile design, bringing together excellent creative talents locally and abroad, providing styling design solutions, and supporting the overall styling business of DFMG, so as to help the automaker achieve its "14th Five-Year" strategic goal.

Over the next five to ten years, the company plans to build innovation design centers with different approaches, becoming an automotive design solutions provider with global orientations.
