Geely’s intelligent driving center, Cao Cao Mobility to co-build Robotaxi platform
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Cao Cao Mobility, a Geely-backed ride-hailing platform, and Geely Automobile Innovation Research Institute's intelligent driving center entered into a cooperation agreement on Sept. 5 to jointly work on the operation of a Robotaxi platform and relevant data service business.
Based on the collaboration, both parties will make joint efforts to build an intelligent driving operation platform for commercial use. Chu Yao, the director of Cao Cao Mobility's future mobility business unit, said the cooperative platform will strive to build an open operation and service ecosystem with a governmental license for commercial operation. The duo will allow the platform to give access to mobility service providers and autonomous driving companies across China, so as to build Cao Cao Mobility's Robotaxi operation network nationwide.

Through the partnership, the Geely-owned intelligent driving center will provide Cao Cao Mobility with integrated solutions related to software development, underlying platform construction, etc. Meanwhile, Cao Cao Mobility will leverage its enormous amount of driving data to form a data closed loop, in a bid to speed up iteration of intelligent driving technologies and algorithms.
Geely Auto Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xiangcheng District, Suzhou in January 2021 to launch its global intelligent driving R&D center in Suzhou High-speed Rail New Town.
By 2025, Geely aims to realize the commercialization of Level 4 technologies and develop Level 5 autonomous drive, according to the “Smart Geely 2025” strategy Geely Auto Group released last October.
