Geely Automobile boasts 39% YoY leap in Aug. 2022 auto sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (the "Company", together with its subsidiaries, the "Group") announced on Tuesday the Group sold 122,635 vehicles in August 2022, representing a year-on-year increase of around 39%.

By powertrain solutions, the group's battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sales reached 28,030 and 9,470 units last month, rocketing 429% and 361% from a year earlier, respectively. During the same month, Geely Automobile also sold 4,539 hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).

The Group posted a 5% year-on-year growth in its Jan.-Aug. auto sales, which stood at 859,110 units, including 136,015 BEVs (+465% YoY) and 43,223 PHEVs (+250% YoY).

Regarding sales of each brand, the Geely brand saw its Aug. sales leap 17% over the previous year to 95,992 units, including 17,489 Geometry-branded new energy vehicles (+230% YoY). ZEEKR and Livan had a sales volume of 7,166 and 4,379 units in August, respectively.

LYNK & CO boasted a 150% year-on-year spike with 15,098 vehicles sold last month, but its year-to-date sales still declined 19% over a year earlier to 107,363 units.

Moreover, the Group exported 19,640 vehicles in August, representing a 216% year-over-year soar. Its Jan.-Aug. export volume zoomed up 81% from the year-ago period to 120,435 units.
