Continental AG inaugurates new R&D facility at Changchun technology center

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 21, the world's leading automotive supplier Continental AG, announced that a new R&D office building at its technology center in Changchun city ("CCTC"), the capital of China's Jilin province, started operation, indicating the CCTC will attach more importance to the development of automotive safety technologies in the future.

According to the company's press release, the CCTC is the R&D center of the BU PSS (Passive Safety and Sensorics) under Continental AG's Safety and Motion Business Group, primarily working on the R&D of automotive passive safety solutions. In the future, the CCTC's operations will expand into other businesses of the group, said a person at Continental AG with relevant knowledge.

Laboratories at the CCTC feature abundant testing resources and equipment that can meet the full-function testing demands across the entire product development cycle. They are not only able to satisfy the development and functional validation of the company's proprietary products, but also support the R&D and validation works for Continental AG's some operations in the Asia, Europe and North America.

The new R&D building is equipped with some self-service facilities, a coffeehouse, a gym, etc. to build a pleasant working environment.

The CCTC currently has nearly 400 R&D staff members, and will continue to boost talent recruitment, especially for software engineers.
