Changan Automobile sets two automotive intelligence technology projects in Chongqing

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 28, Changan Automobile inked a strategic cooperation agreement with the local authorities of Chongqing’s Liangjiang New Area to set up the automaker’s Changan Technology project and Long-term Intelligence project in the Area.

With a total planned investment of 28.5 billion yuan, the two projects will better support the digital transformation and upgrade of Chongqing's auto industry, accelerate the construction of the local ecosystem for intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry, and help Chongqing build a world-class intelligent connected new energy vehicle industry cluster.

According to the agreement, the Changan Technology project will focus on building "new automobile (new architecture automobile) + new platform (SDA-S central integrated architecture)" and promote the sustainable growth of core competitiveness of Changan Automobile. 

Meanwhile, the Long-term Intelligence project is dedicated to mastering the underlying core technology of automotive intelligence, forming full-stack R&D capabilities for intelligent driving, providing intelligent driving solutions for the industry, and creating a high-end intelligent driving industrial chain cluster.

According to Ye Pei, executive vice president of Changan Automobile, the two projects rose in response to the ongoing trend of electric vehicles and software-defined vehicles. The automaker believes that cultivating new technologies is the inevitable course to raise its market competitiveness.
