GAC Group gains two-digit YoY growth in both Sept., YTD auto sales
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Group, one of the major Chinese automobile groups, announced it sold 237,172 vehicles last month, representing a 44.32% leap year-on-year, while also posting an 8.88% growth month-on-month.
As for the year-to-date performance, GAC Group saw its Jan.-Sept. auto sales jump 22.18% over a year earlier to 1,825,040 units.
Among the group's subsidiaries, GAC Honda was the only one to record a year-on-year decrease in Sept. sales. GAC Toyota scored a two-digit growth in both Sept. and Jan.-Sept. period with the most vehicles sold in the two spans. The other Sino-Japanese joint venture, GAC Mitsubishi, logged a 39.87% year-on-year drop in its year-to-date sales, but its Sept. sales were more than that of the prior-year level.
GAC AION, the new energy vehicle (NEV)-dedicated arm of GAC Group, boasted a three-digit surge in both Sept. and year-to-date sales.
GAC Group announced its NEV sales reached 34,030 units in Sept. to reflect a 123.98% year-on-year hike, resulting in a year-to-date sales volume of 204,872 units (+124% YoY).

In Sept., the group had eight models whose respective sales all exceeded 10,000 units, namely, the Accord series (24,380 units), the Camry series (24,185 units), the Levin series (17,228 units), the AION S (13,522 units), the AION Y (13,408 units), the Wildlander series (12,985 units), the Breeze series (11,595 units), and the Frontlander (11,258 units).
