Car and City: Huawei-backed AITO registers 8,722 vehicles in September
Beijing (Gasgoo)- SERES Auto, Chinese ICT giant Huawei’s first official automaking partner, saw its auto registrations reach 8,729 units in September 2022, according to the data compiled by Gasgoo Auto Research Institute (GARI).

Owning two auto brands, namely SERES and AITO, SERES Auto is affiliated to SERES Group, which was formerly known as Chongqing Sokon Industry Group. The two auto brands all have Huawei as their partner.
To be specific, SERES brand worked with Huawei under the HUAWEI Smart Selection cooperation model and launched one cooperative model, the SF5 onto the market. Meanwhile, AITO is a jointly owned new auto brand between SERES Auto and Huawei, with Huawei deeply involved in the manufacturing of AITO-branded vehicles.
In the past month, the SF5 was registered by 7 units across China, in Chongqing (3 units), Shanghai (2 units), Shenzhen (1 unit), and Zhengzhou (1 unit).
Meanwhile, the AITO M5, M5 EV, and the M7 recorded a registration volume of 5,362 units, 112 units, and 3,248 units, respectively.
In September, Shanghai saw the most AITO vehicles registered at 794 units while Shenzhen came closely after at the second place with 717 registrations. Chongqing, where AITO vehicles were produced, ranked third among all Chinese cities with 524 vehicles registered.
