Tesla recalls 80,561 Model 3, Model X, Model S vehicles in China
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Tesla recently filed for a plan to recall 80,561 Model 3s, Model Xs, and Model Ss in China to China's State Administration of Market Regulation. The recall has already taken effect.
According to documents released by the Regulation on Nov. 25, Tesla is recalling 67,698 imported Model S and Model X electric vehicles manufactured between September 25, 2013 and November 21, 2020 due to a software malfunction.
The error may cause the feedback voltage of the power battery voltage sensing loop to be inconsistent with the real voltage of the electric brick, resulting in a misjudgment of the battery management system. The vehicle screen will then display warnings such as "maintenance needed" or "stop the vehicle safely", and the vehicle will gradually stop power output. In extreme cases, the risk of vehicle collision may be increased, resulting in potential safety hazards.
At the same time, the electric vehicle maker is also recalling 2,736 imported Model 3s produced between January 12, 2019 and November 22, 2019, along with 10,127 China-made Model 3s manufactured between October 14, 2019 and September 26, 2022.
The recall targets vehicles that once have the middle seat belt of the second row of seats disassembled for after-sales repair and maintenance. When the seat belt fastening bolts are reinstalled at the service center, the fixed fastening parts of the middle seat belt and the left seat belt buckle may not be inserted into the connecting bolts. If these vehicles are involved in a crash, the seat belt will not be able to act as a restraint, increasing the risk of injury to the occupants in an accident.
