NIO Capital invests in GaN epitaxial materials developer Enkris Semiconductor

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Enkris Semiconductor, a Chinese manufacturer of GaN epitaxial materials, recently bagged hundreds of millions of yuan in its Series C financing, which was co-led by several investors like NIO Capital, according to a post on NIO Capital's WeChat account.

Dr. Kai Cheng, founder and president of Enkris Semiconductor, said the successful financing represents the capital market’s high recognition over the company's strengths and development prospect. In the future, Enkris Semiconductor will further step up its R&D investment and boost the applications of GaN materials in automotive electronics and other fields.

Founded in March 2012, Enkris Semiconductor is located in Suzhou Industrial Park, which boasts an advanced gallium nitride epitaxial material development and manufacturing base. Enkris is dedicated to developing and producing high-quality GaN epitaxial materials for the applications in power electronics, micro-displays, etc. The company claimed itself as the only supplier globally which is able to provide 300mm GaN epi-wafers.

Enkris Semiconductor has created a number of milestones. In 2014, the company launched the world-first commercial 200mm GaN-on-Si HEMT epi-wafers. In Sept. 2021, it announced world-first 300mm GaN-on-Si HEMT epi-wafer. Moreover, the company has been certified to the ISO 9001: 2015 and IATF16949:2016 quality management systems.
