GAC Group scores 16.6% YoY growth in Jan.-Nov. 2022 auto sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Group announced on Thursday it sold a total of 2,227,800 vehicles through the first eleven months of 2022, representing a 16.6% year-on-year growth.

In Nov. 2022, the Guangzhou-based auto group saw its monthly sales shrink 15.09% from a year earlier to 190,305 units.

For the first eleven months of the year, GAC Group sold 272,207 vehicles in total (+120.4% YoY), 33,737 units of which were sold last month to reflect an 89.99% year-over-year hike.

As for specific performances of subsidiaries, GAC Honda posted a year-on-year downturn in both Nov. and year-to-date sales, while the other major Sion-Japanese joint venture, GAC Toyota, saw its Nov. and Jan.-Nov. sales rise from a year earlier both.

GAC Motor, the self-owned passenger vehicle subsidiary of the group, witnessed its Nov. sales fall 27.45% from the previous year to 25,807 units, while its Jan.-Nov. sales still grew at a two-digit growth of 11.13%.

GAC AION was still the fastest-growing one with its Nov. and Jan.-Nov. sales rocketing 91.32% and 128.24% from the year-ago period.

Nevertheless, GAC Mitsubishi only sold 802 vehicles, which plunged 89.6% compared to the prior-year period.Other subsidiaries, including HYCAN Automobile Technology Co., Ltd., GAC Hino Motors Co., Ltd., Guangzhou GAC BYD New Energy Passenger Vehicle Co., Ltd., etc., recorded a combined sales volume of 2,857 vehicles last month, indicating an 8.08% decline year-over-year.

In Nov. 2022, the group had six models whose respective sales all exceeded 10,000 units, namely, the Camry series (21,860 units), the Accord series (19,837 units), the AION S (15,323 units), the Levin series (14,495 units), the AION Y (11,560 units), and the Wildlander series (10,957 units).
