ZF Group to build new auto electronics factory in Guangzhou’s Huadu District
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Dec. 12, ZF Group signed an investment agreement with Guangzhou Huadu District Government to build a new automotive electronics factory, which is set to be built into a global benchmark factory boasting high level of automation and intelligence, according to a post on ZF Group's WeChat account.
The new agreement signing marks part of efforts of ZF Group to expand its production capacity in the fields like autonomous driving, camera, sensor, and braking electronics, said the Germany-based automotive supplier.
The new factory is expected for ground-breaking in 2023 and is scheduled to start volume production in 2025.

Covering a planned area of 12,000 square meters, the new factory's first phase will contain an Industry 4.0 static-free electronics manufacturing and assembly workshop that features constant temperature and humidity, and meets Class 100,000 cleanroom standards. It will also be equipped with production supporting facilities such as warehousing and IT, as well as a modern office space in line with ZF Office 3.0 standards, with a housing capacity of 700 staff members.
The yet-to-be-built factory will have four production lines, namely, advanced driver assist systems, high-performance domain control systems, safety electronics, and chassis control.

Huadu District of Guangzhou city has already formed a complete automotive industrial chain that includes four major automotive assemblies: engine, chassis, body, and electrical equipment, basically covering the R&D and development of all key components. Its products have been exported to more than 100 countries and regions. Stretching over roughly 2,300 mu (1.533 million square meters), the first phase of the district’s ICV (intelligent and connected vehicle) testing base will be completed in 2024.
