CATL, Huawei Device ink MOU for Huawei Smart Selection vehicle development

Beijing (Gasgoo)- China’s battery player CATL and Huawei Device Co., Ltd. inked an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) on December 14 in Ningde, Fujian Province.

Per the MOU, the two companies will jointly explore the development of the Huawei Smart Selection vehicle project, realizing a complementary and win-win cooperation. Huawei Device will recommend CATL as the top-priority preferred power battery supplier to automakers who wish to work with Huawei to produce vehicles under the Huawei Smart Selection cooperation mode. 

Meanwhile, CATL will prepare for the Huawei Smart Selection project high-quality automotive power battery products, in order to help the collaborative smart vehicle models hit the market sooner, ensuring the innovation and advantages of products manufactured under the Huawei Smart Selection cooperation mode.

The MOU signals that CATL and Huawei will further expand their investment in the technical development of intelligent connected electric vehicles, and jointly build a high-end auto brand that’s globally-oriented. CATL will give full play to its strength in technological innovation and large-scale production, leveraging Huawei Device’s advantages in Internet technology, distribution channels, and terminal sales networks, the duo aims to bring users with more advanced smart mobility experience, promote the prosperity of the new energy vehicle industry, and create a low-carbon future.
