Valeo, Ningbo Swell team up on offering illuminated front grilles, panels in China

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Valeo and Ningbo Swell Industry Co., Ltd. (“Ningbo Swell”) signed a strategic alliance agreement on Dec. 20 for the development, production, and sales of the next-generation illuminated front grilles or panels for the Chinese automotive market, according to Valeo's press release.

Leveraging both parties' expertise, Valeo and Ningbo Swell will make joint efforts to provide automakers in China high-value-added front panels that integrate lighting solutions.

Valeo is one of the world's leading companies in visibility system field, with a product lineup including lighting and wiper systems. The "Lighting Everywhere" is one of the four mainstays of Valeo's value creation strategy, and also serves as a primary element in improving road safety, said the French automotive supplier.

Valeo said illuminated front grille or panel is an essential component to the identification of a car’s brand. On electric vehicles, signature lights have been given more space at the front to accentuate the car's uniqueness. Amid this trend, more new creative fields are being opened up to car designers.

The strategic partnership between Valeo and Ningbo Swell is part of this trend, said Valeo. It will enable the two parties to offer automakers in China illuminated front grilles and panels in a single and perfectly integrated package.
