Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In 2022, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. saw its annual sales in China exceed 1 million units for the eighth year in a row.
The Japanese automaker sold a total of 1,045,197 vehicles in the world's largest auto market last year, representing a 22.1% drop from the previous year.
For clarity, the annual sales Nissan Motor reported for its China market were composed of the full-year passenger vehicle sales of Nissan, Venucia, and Infiniti brands, as well as the light commercial vehicles sales of Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. for the Jan.-Sept. period and Zhengzhou Nissan for the entire year.

In Dec. 2022, Nissan Motor's China sales reached 70,482 units, tumbling 41.7% compared to the same period in 2021, while soaring 46.9% from the previous month.
Shohei Yamazaki, president of Dongfeng Motor Company Limited ("DFL"), said Nissan Motor will continue to develop its business in China with a faster pace in electrification deployment. He added the Japanese automaker plans to roll out nine all-electric and e-POWER-enabled models in China by 2025, expecting electrified vehicles to make up over 40% of its annual new car sales by that year.
