Dongfeng Motor Group faces two-digit YoY plunge in Jan. 2023 sales
Beijing (Gasgoo)- In the first month of 2023, Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (Dongfeng Motor Group) saw its monthly sales reach 108,088 vehicles.

Among the vehicles sold in the past month, 12,072 units were new energy vehicles, dropping 38% year on year.
Dongfeng Motor Group sold 92,826 passenger vehicles in January 2023, down 64.7% from the previous year. Of which, 11,357 units were new energy passenger vehicles, which also slipped 36.7% compared to the same month in 2022.
Specifically, the group’s premium new energy vehicle brand, VOYAH, delivered 1,548 vehicles in January, which notched down 0.32% over the prior-year period. Whereas eGT, Dongfeng’s French-Sino new energy vehicle dedicated arm, saw a 14.41% year-on-year increase in January sales, which came in at 7,342 vehicles. Notably, eGT was the only sub-brand of Dongfeng Motor Group to achieve a positive sales growth in January.
As to the group’s other joint ventures, Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën sold 5,625 vehicles in the past month, indicating a 59.5% decrease from a year ago. With 30,516 vehicles sold in January, Dongfeng Honda saw its monthly sales more than halved from a year ago.
