Xiaomi applies for trademarks for upcoming vehicle models
Beijing (Gasgoo)- On February 27, Xiaomi applied to register several graphic and text trademarks, including "MODENAT", "XIAOMI MODENA", and "MIMODENA", according to data from Chinese corporate database Tianyancha. These trademarks are said to be related to Xiaomi’s first production vehicle model.

The trademarks are classified under transportation equipment, scientific instruments, and building repair, and the current status is "application in progress".
According to information previously released by Xiaomi, the smartphone giant and automaking newcomer, its first car is expected for mass production in the first half of 2024.
In early January of this year, several local media reports revealed that Xiaomi's first car would be a mid-size coupe with the internal code name "Modena". The car will be available in two versions at different price points. In addition, the second Xiaomi-branded vehicle model, with the internal code name "Lemans", is currently under development and is planned for release in 2025.
Currently, Xiaomi's automobile R&D team has grown to over 2,300 employees. In terms of car manufacturing, Xiaomi has built its own base in Beijing's Yizhuang area, with plans to build a complete vehicle factory with an annual output of 300,000 cars in two phases, with each phase having a capacity of 150,000 cars.
