Changan Automobile achieves 38.27% YoY jump in Feb. 2023 sales
Beijing (Gasgoo)- In February 2023, Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) saw its monthly sales recover from the downturn in January with a double-digit year-on-year growth.
In the second month of this year, Changan Automobile sold 191,007 vehicles, representing a 11.17% increase over the previous month and a 38.27% jump over the previous year. Among the vehicles sold last month, 20,574 units were new energy vehicles (NEVs) under Changan Automobile's wholly-owned brands, soaring 103.38% year on year.

In the first two months of 2023, Changan Automobile’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 362,812 vehicles, down 12.66% year on year. Cumulative sales of the automaker’s wholly-owned brands summed up to 309,424 units, dropping 7.55% over a year ago. Among which, 36,695 vehicles were sold in overseas markets to reflect a 2.93% increase from the same period in 2022.
In addition, sales of passenger vehicles under Changan Automobile’s self-owned brands amounted to 242,286 units in the Jan.-Feb. period, climbing 6.01% from the earlier year.
As to the two joint ventures, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda, a respective 19.93% year-on-year increase and a 61.21% year-over-year plunge confronted the two companies’ February sales, which stood at 14,312 units and 3,863 units successively.
