Li Auto's Beijing factory secures production qualifications

Beijing (Gasgoo)- In the latest announcement by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), "Beijing Li Auto Co., Ltd." appeared on the list, indicating that Li Auto's Beijing factory has obtained the production qualification for pure electric and extended range passenger vehicles.

Li Auto currently operates two production facilities, namely, the green intelligent factory in Shunyi District, Beijing, and the intelligent manufacturing base in Wujin District, Changzhou. Currently, all Li Auto models are manufactured at the Changzhou base.

According to previous information, Li Auto’s green intelligent factory in Shunyi District, Beijing, commenced construction in October 2021. The entire project, with an investment exceeding 7.5 billion yuan, involves the retrofit of the former Beijing Hyundai first factory. The factory is scheduled to begin production later this year with an annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles, focusing on manufacturing pure electric and extended range electric passenger vehicles.

Li Auto's delivery volume has shown a consistent upward trend this year. From January to May, the cumulative delivery volume of the automaker reached 106,542 vehicles, leading other local startups by a wide margin. On June 13, Li Auto announced its deliveries for the 24th week of 2023 (June 5-June 11), with a total of 8,400 new vehicles sold, setting a new record. As of June 11, Li Auto's monthly deliveries in June had reached 11,900 vehicles.

During the previous first-quarter earnings conference call, Li Auto's founder, Li Xiang, stated the goal of achieving monthly deliveries of 30,000 vehicles by June this year. Recently, Li Xiang set a new target on social media, aiming to challenge a monthly delivery volume of 40,000 vehicles for the Li L7, L8, and L9 models in 2023.
