AITO's M5 Intelligent Driving Edition to open NCA function in five cities in July

Beijing (Gasgoo)- AITO, the premium new energy vehicle brand jointly developed by SERES and Huawei, will introduce the NCA (Navigation Cruise Assistance) smart driving function for the M5 Intelligent Driving Edition in five cities next month, said Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's Intelligent Automotive Solution Business Unit.

Specifically, the NCA function will be available for AITO users in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, and Hangzhou after the OTA upgrade in July. In the third quarter of this year, the NCA function, which does not rely on high-precision maps, will be available in fifteen cities. By the fourth quarter, the NCA reach will expand to a total of 45 cities.

Furthermore, AITO announced a limited-time promotional offer for the HUAWEI ADS 2.0 advanced driving system package. Until December 31, 2023, customers can purchase the package for a one-off price of only 18,000 yuan. In mid-April, when Huawei first launched the HUAWEI ADS 2.0, the prices announced were 36,000 yuan for a one-off purchase, 7,200 yuan for an annual subscription, and 720 yuan for monthly subscription. 

As the first model equipped with the HUAWEI ADS 2.0 system, the first batch of the AITO M5 Intelligent Driving Edition vehicles were delivered to its owners on June 16. The vehicle carries one roof-mounted LiDAR, three millimeter-wave radars, eleven high-definition cameras, and twelve ultrasonic radars. Combined with a high-performance computing platform and humanized algorithms, it provides users with an advanced intelligent driving experience close to Level 3.

According to the plan, after the AITO M5 Intelligent Driving Edition, such Huawei-powered models as the AVATR 11 and the ARCFOX α S·HI will also be upgraded to ADS 2.0.
