SAIC Motor intends to build factory in Europe

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SAIC Motor has put the task of setting up a factory in Europe on its agenda and is actively selecting a site, Yu De, Assistant to the President of SAIC Motor, and General Manager of SAIC Motor's international business department, revealed during a media communication meeting on July 4.

Official data from SAIC Motor show that in June 2023, the auto group sold around 86,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs), a month-on-month increase of 13.1%, setting a new high for the year. Throughout the first half of this year, SAIC Motor broke monthly sales records for NEVs every month. In the second quarter, it sold more than 230,000 NEVs, a surge of 61.9% from the first quarter.

SAIC Motor predicts further acceleration of NEV sales growth in the second half of the year, driven by the continual strength of numerous new products.
